Frequently Asked Questions

Is your service covered by insurance?
International student insurance has reimbursed my services. Insurance policies vary, so I recommend checking directly with your insurer. Check fees & reimbursement for more information.
How do I know you're the right psychologist for me?
It’s thoughtful to consider this, as finding the right fit is essential for effective therapy. A good starting point is reviewing a psychologist’s training, experience, and areas of specialization to see whether they align with your needs.
How do I know if I need psychotherapy?
You may benefit from psychotherapy if emotional distress feels disproportionate to what you are going through, lasts longer than a month, or continues to affect sleep, appetite, relationships, or work. An intake assessment can help clarify your needs.
Is psychotherapy only for severe problems?
No. Addressing difficulties early can prevent them from worsening and affecting daily life. Many clients benefit from therapy even when concerns are not severe; they often require fewer sessions.
Do you work with children and adolescents?
I specialize in working with adults, as most of my clinical experience has been with adult clients. You are welcome to review my scope of service to see whether my practice is a good fit for you.
Do you offer online sessions?
In principle, yes—I offer both in-person and online sessions. That said, many clients find meeting in person for the first session helpful for building connection and allowing me to better understand their needs.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
You may cancel or reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with shorter notice or missed appointments may be charged in full.
Do I need a referral to start therapy?
No referral is required to begin psychotherapy. However, you are encouraged to check with your insurer whether a referral (e.g., from a GP/huisarts) is needed to facilitate reimbursement.
Is there a waiting time for your service?
So far in this year, clients are typically able to schedule a first session within about two weeks. Please contact me to check my current availability.
